列車のライトに浮かび上がる
雪のひとひら。
そのひとつひとつに
旅情が宿っているように
感じました。

The snow crystals which was shined by the head lamp of the train.
I felt that the every single peace of it includes the atmosphere of travel.

踏切の灯りの奥は、
完全なる闇の世界。
降りしきる雪が彩る
闇の先へ続く線路は
どこへ向かうのか。

It is the perfect dark world beyond the lamp of the railroad crossing.
Where are the railroad which is colored by the snowfall going?

午前中原稿を書いたあと
飛行機に乗って
あっというまに函館。
これでは

「は〜るばるきたぜは〜こだて〜♪」

ではまったくないですね。
やっぱり函館には
急行八甲田と青函連絡船を乗り継いでこないと
気分がでないなぁ。

函館のホテルで
アシマネけんちゃんと合流。
けんちゃんは昨日の夜出て
東北道をひた走り、フェリーでたどり着いたので
は〜るばる来てます（笑）

雪は少なめだけど
明日からの撮影がんばります。

After writing manuscripts in the morning,I got on a plane which was bound for Hakodate.

It is not the situation,
I arrived at Hakodate all the way from Tokyo♪(It's one of Japanese famous song.)

If I didn't come to Hakodate by changing from "Hakkoda Express" to "Seikan-Renraku-Sen(Aomori-Hakodate ferry)",my mind wasn't filled with a burning passion.

I met Ken-chan who is my assistant and manager at a Hotel in Hakodate.
Ken-chan left Tokyo last night,drove a car on Tohoku highway through the night and arrived at Hakodate by ferry from Aomori.
So,he arrived at Hakodate all the way from Tokyo♪ :p

I will do my best on location from tomorrow,though it looks less snow than I expected.

旅から戻ると
待っているのは
慌ただしい生活。
時間の流れ方が
旅先の倍くらい速い感じです。
というわけで
あっというまに夕方。
いつもの電車も
心なしか
急いでいるように感じました。

When I came back,a hurry-scurry life was waiting for me.
I feel that the stream of time is about two times faster than I was travelling.
So,it was in the evening when I realized it.
I felt that the train which I saw usually run in a hurry.

冬の陽炎の向こう。
超望遠レンズの圧縮された世界。
現実の風景なのに
現実感がない
不思議な世界。

凍てつく空気が
僕の心を
熱く燃やします。

The very quietly morning
When I saw it,I felt that the time was stopping.
When I breathe in the frozen air,my heart was burned by it.

夜な夜な走って
やってきました米原へ。
そう
新幹線と雪景色が撮りたくて
やってきたのです。
日本らしい風景のなかを走る新幹線
素敵だなぁ。

I drove all night long and came to Maibara.
That's light!
I would like to take photographs of Shinkansen and a snowy landscape.
The Shinkansen which run through the very Japanese landscape.
How nice it is!

昨日のてつたびロケのあと
深夜にカシオペアを撮影。
青森に泊まって
今日ひさびさに自宅へ。
でも夜中にはまた出発です。
旅と旅の間にみるいつもの風景は
特別に感じます。

After making Tetsutabi program.I took photographs of Cassiopeia (It is the name of train which runs from Tokyo to Sapporo) at dead of night yesterday.
I stayed at a hotel in Aomori and go back to my home after all this time.
But,in the night,I go on a location again.
The scenery which you see it usually looks exceptional,if you see it between trip and trip.

今日の津軽地方の
天気予報は雪でしたが、
晴れ間も多く
ぼんやりながら
岩木山もその姿を見せてくれました。
その前をストーブ列車が
屋根に雪と旅情をのせて
横切っていきました。

元沢木仮乗降場に近い丘に登ると
オホーツク海からの強い風が
絶えず吹いています。
17歳の僕は
反射望遠の600mmを握りしめ
地吹雪の中を行く興浜南線のキハ22を
凍えながら撮影しました。
感動で涙を流しながら。

あれから30年。
立ち並ぶ木製の電柱と
地吹雪の中を走り去る津軽鉄道の姿に
あのときの感動が重なりました。

僕は旅をしながら、
記憶に刻まれた感動を
探しているのかもしれません。

When you crime the hill which is near the Motosawaki-Kari-Station,the steady wind blows strongly.
When I was 17 years old,I took photographs of Kiha-22 of Kouhin-Nan line which went away through the blizzard with my camera which was attached a 600mm reflection telescope lens,trembling.
When I took the photographs,I was really moving so I cried with tears.

It is 30 years since then.
When I saw the row of wooden telegraph poles and the train of Tsugaru-railway which went away through the blizzard,the moving which I felt then appeared in my heart.

I suppose that I'm looking forward to seek the movings which is in my memories.

吹雪のなか
走り去るストーブ列車の姿。
この旅情を伝えたい。
凍えるほど寒い日だけど
僕の魂は熱く燃えています。

The figure of stove car ran away in driving snow.
I eager to express this atmosphere of trip.

It was freezing cold today.
But I have been having burning passion for photographs of railways.

僕は列車が現れるのを待っている。
彼はサカナが現れるのを待っている。
お互いを意識しつつ
漂う緊張感。
鷺もカメラマンも
獲物を狙う
ハンター仲間ですね。

I was waiting for a train to turn up.
He was waiting for fishes to turn up.
We were aware with each other.
So,we were very nervous...

Neither heron nor photographer are hunters
who aim their target.

アマチュア時代
まだ車も持ってなくて
駅から駅へ歩きながら
撮影していたころのこと。
1日の撮影を終え、
目的地の駅が近づくと
こんなふうに
夕焼け空に腕木式信号機が輝いていたっけ。
そんな記憶の中のような風景が
この津軽には残されています。
夕焼けの色に
青春時代の記憶が
重なりました。

When I was an amateur Photographer,I took photographs while I was walking from a station to the next station.
After taking photographs,when I approached a station which was my destination,a semaphore was glowed by the sunset like this.

The scenery as if in my memories is left in Tsugaru.

The memories when I was teenager coincided with the color of sunset.

感じたのは、
雪の冷たさか。
それとも
自分のぬくもりか。

いつもより
ちょっと遠回りした
帰り道。

Which did she feel,
the coldness of snow
or
the warmth of herself...?

On the way home,I made a detour bit longer than usual.

雨は夜更け過ぎに
雪へと変わるだろう
なんて天気予報。
期待して
０時ギリギリまで待ったけど
越谷は雨のままでした。
それほど寒くないので
雨のままかな。

The weather forecast said,"The rain will change into snow."
I waited for it expectantly until the midnight but the rain didn't change into snow in Koshigaya area...
It wasn't very cold.
So it will probably keep raining.

When I took a -5-corrected photograph,
the container turned into a gold ingot.

今日はめずらしく都内で食事会。
とっても楽しい時間を過ごしました。
帰り道、豊洲へ寄り道。
夜の豊洲は未来の世界のよう。
とっても幻想的な世界が
広がっていました。
え？鉄道が写ってない？

Unusually,I had a dinner in Tokyo today.
I had a wonderful time.
I drop by the Toyosu on the way home.
Toyosu looks like future world at night.
There was a fantastic world in that area.

何を思う。

The sun which is above a train.
I suppose what does the person who looks the beautiful sunset from the train think about something.

今日の朝は埼玉もかなり冷え込みました。
朝窓から外を見たら
霜でまっしろ。
安静も忘れて早朝から
カメラ片手にレッツゴー！
霜に朝日が当たり
地面が宝石のように
輝いていました。

It got extremely cold this morning in Saitama area.
I looked out the window,all over the ground was covered with frost this morning.
I forgot that I was ill and rushed out with my Camera in hand.
The sun shined on the frost.
So,the ground sparkle as a jewel.

神様がくれた休日のような
この安静の日々。
もったいないので
書籍の原稿に使っていますが
おかげさまでかなり進みました！
うまくいけば予想より速く
出版できるかも。
僕の写真に対する考え方やコツが詰まった１冊。
フォートナカイより近々に出版します（はず）ので
お楽しみに。

枯れススキごしに貨物を低速流し。

I pass the days for medical treatment as holidays which was given by God.
I think that is wasteful.
So,I use this time to write manuscripts of my book.
I could work efficiently thanks to the holidays.
If my work go well,I could publish my book earlier than I had expected.
There are a lot of my thinking and tips to approach to take good photographs in this book.
It will be published by Photo-Nakai at an early date.
Please look forward to it.

I went to the park where I usually go again.
I took photograph of freight train over withered Japanese pampas grass by panning shot with slow shutter speed.
Medical treatment is sometimes good for me.

今日は１日
自宅で安静にしています。
熱が下がって元気になっているので
安静にするってホント大変。
でも今日は頑張って
安静にしてます。
夕方、こそっと出かけていちてつ。
写真撮るのって
楽しいなぁ
としみじみ。

I rested at home all day long today.
My fever went down and I got better.
So,staying in bed all day was very hard for me...
But...I steeled myself against my passion and stayed in bed today.
In the evening,I left my home furtively and stealthily and did Ichitetsu.
I felt keenly that taking photographs is nice time for me.

昨日の夜突然40度の高熱出て
夜中に救急外来へ。
インフルエンザかとびびりましたが
検査の結果陰性で
傷口にばい菌が入ったのが原因とのこと。
一日中寝込んでいたけど、
まったく熱が下がらないので
苦渋の判断で帰ることに。
いちてつは熱にうなされながら撮影した北舟岡駅。
帰りたくないけど、ここは心を鬼にして
雪が降ったら出直します。

I was attacked by a high temperature of 40℃.
So I went to emergency visit by ambulance.
I was worried about that got influenza.
But,the results of the test were negative.
The reason why the wound became infected.
I was laud up all day long.
But,my fever didn't come down...
So,I decide to go home...
It was a very hard decision for me...
Today's Ichitetsu is Kitahunaoka Station which I took it in pain from high fever.
I won't like to go back home,but steeled myself against passion.
I'll be back when it snows.

今回はソニーα7SⅡと共に
旅をしていますが、
高感度画質の進歩に
驚かされています。
これまでは
記憶にしか残せなかった風景を
写真として残すことができるのが
とても嬉しい。

体はクタクタだけど

This time,I went on a shooting trip with SONY α7SII.
I was surprised by advancing Technology of High Sensitivity.
So far I can take photographs of the scenery which can only remain in my memory.
That's great news for me.

Running The Star Light EXPRESS which light on the rail.

The night location continued for everyday.
So,My body cried but my mind is burning for taking good photographs.

今日からいよいよロケ開始。
２月末に開催される写真ショー
「CP＋」用の作品撮りです。
このロケのメインの被写体は
寝台特急カシオペア。
人気の被写体だけど
せっかくの夜行列車だけに
夜に撮りたいっ！ということで
自爆的な苦労してます。
なにせチャンスが早朝か夜中なので
朝方人間としてはキツいのです。
いちてつは早朝の月。
作品はCP＋でお見せしますので
お楽しみに〜。

Finally,I start a shooting trip for "CP+" which is a picture exhibition in February.
The subject of this shooting trip is the overnight train service "Cassiopeia".
It's one of the most popular subject.

It's very overnight train service.
So,I would like to take a photograph of it at night.
For this reason,I have a suicidal hard time...
As you know,opportunities for take a photograph of it come at early morning or deep night.
It's hard for a morning person...
Today's Ichitets is the moon in the early morning.
I will publish my work at "CP+".
Don't miss it.

I finished my work.
(I turned a blind eye to it...)
I will go on location tomorrow.
I'm thrilled with it!

闇夜のEF65。
次々と登場する新型機関車に押され
このタイプもずいぶん少なくなりました。
飾り気もなにもないデザインだけど
裏方っぽいいかつい顔が好き。
いつまでも頑張ってほしいなぁ。

A EF65 freight train in a dark night.
It is losing ground to new type freight trains which appear in the world one after another recently.
So this type is becoming gradually less.
It has plain and simple design.
But I like its stern,simplicity and fortitude face.
I hope that it stay work for a long time.

今日も原稿沼の
地味〜な１日。
そして気づけば夕方。
ドラマチックな夕方の雲が
心と体の疲れを癒してくれます。
お正月から何の原稿を書いているかというと
フォートナカイ発行では初の書籍。

このお正月は
ずっと原稿沼だったので
今日は家族サービスでスキーへ。
湯沢中里スキー場は
旧型客車が待合室として使われていて
１鉄にも最適ということで
僕のお気にりの場所です。
東京も暖かかったみたいですが、
越後湯沢も信じられないくらい暖かく
客車の屋根からキラキラ輝く雪解け水が。
その清廉な雫を主役に
パチリ。
若い頃は平気だったのですが、
この年になるとさすがに
日帰りスキーはキツイですね。

I had been in the pound of manuscripts during my New Year vacation.
I went to skiing with my family on my day off work.
Yuzawa Nakasato skiing ground is one of my favorite place.
Because an old passenger car is used as a waiting room
It is one of my best place to take a photograph for Ichitetsu.

It was worm in Tokyo and Echigo Yuzawa was incredibly warm too.
So the shining water of melted snow drop from the roof of the passenger car.
I choose it as subject of my picture.

On a day skiing is hard for me...
When I was young,I was all right.

今日も近所で
季語探し。
金柑かな？
かわいい実がたわわになっていたので
パチり。
今年のお正月は
原稿沼で終わってしまったなぁ（泣）

I was looking forward the seasonal appearance today too.
I found a tree which has a lot of fruits.
I suppose they are kumquats.
So I took a photograph of it with train.

In the end,I wasn't able to escape from a pound of manuscripts during New Year vacation...

今日はいつもの公園に行って
ウロウロするも
いつもみたいに
撮りたいものがビビッとこない。
それでもキョロキョロしていて
キレイだなぁと思ったのがこの
「ひっつき虫」の木。
これまでこの木を美しいなんて思ったことなかったけど
今日は午後の光に輝いて線香花火みたい。
というわけで電車とうまくからめようと
試行錯誤。でもこれが楽しい。
最後はお日様の力を借りて
列車と太陽が重なる瞬間を狙ってパチり。
ほんと
写真は楽しいなぁ。

I went to the park where I usually go and hang around in it.
But...I couldn't have inspiration to take photographs.
Even then I was looking around some objects.
After that,I found a plant called cocklebur.
I thought that it has beauty.

I have never thought that the tree has beauty.
But,it was shining brightly reflecting the afternoon glow.
I thought that it looks like a Japanese sparkler fireworks.
And so I used a used a process of trial and error to take a photograph of it with train.
It was nice time for me.
Finally,I obtained a help from the sun.
I aimed the moment when the train coincident with the sun and took the photograph of it.
Taking photographs is very fun for me.

明けましておめでとうございます。

一年の計は元旦にあり
ということで
早起きして
初日出が生み出す「初ギラリ」を
撮影しました。
光と影が生み出すドラマチックな世界。

New Year's Day is the day for planning the new year.
So,I got up early and took a photograph of a train with the highlight which was born by the first sun rise of the year.
I could find a dramatic world which was produced by light and shadow.
This year will be a good year too.
